Pool service on Star Island

Star Island is a private residential island in Biscayne Bay, reached from the MacArthur Causeway past a guarded entrance, with a single road, Star Island Drive, looping past estates that face the water on every side. Pools here tend to be large and architectural: vanishing edges toward the bay, raised spas, long lap lanes, fountains and sheer descents, often set on terraces close to the seawall.

Water on every side means salt air on every surface. Breezes across the bay carry salt and spray onto decks, coping and equipment, and the equipment rooms that serve these pools are usually busy places, with multiple pumps, heaters or heat pumps, salt or ozone systems, lighting transformers and automation panels. We check them each visit for corrosion, drips and noise, and we tell you about wear before it becomes downtime.

Vanishing-edge and overflow pools need their own routine. We keep the catch basin clean and at the right level, watch the auto-fill and overflow, and balance the water for the higher evaporation that comes with open, sunny bayfront decks. Tile lines and stone get careful cleaning so calcium and salt don't build up on the finishes that make these pools look the way they do.
